Sokoto: NGO petitions NECO over non release of 2019/20 results

A concerned citizen’s body in Sokoto, the Sokoto State Development Association (SOSDA) has written to the National Examinations Council (NECO) seeking for clarification on why the state’s 2019/20 results have not been released.
In a statement signed by the chairman of the association, Hon. Malami Mohammed Galadanci, it called on the examination body to furnish the 2019/20 candidates and other stakeholders, particularly, the association why results of those who sat for the year in question were yet to be released.

According to him, as stakeholders, parents and concerned indigenes of Sokoto state” our hearts bleed when we hear that candidates who sat for the same exams from other states have their results released while our children are yet to know their fate,” he said.

Hon Galadanci, therefore, made a strong appeal to NECO to furnish it with reasons why candidates who sat for the exams in Sokoto were yet to get their results stating that “we want to know if it is because the state government has not paid its dues, the number of candidates from the state affected and whether a third party can intervene in the matter with regards to payment” adding that “as concerned indigenes of Sokoto state education of our children is a collective responsibility and where government fails to act, our duty is to step up.”

The association assured NECO of it’s readiness to assist where necessary to ensure that candidates from the state who sat for the 2019/20 exams have their results released to enable them further their education and also called on all stakeholders to lend their voices with a view to getting the state’s results held by NECO released.
