Sokoto pilgrims pray for Buhari, Nigeria in Mecca

Sokoto state pilgrims currently in Saudi Arabia for the annual hajj have held a special prayer session for continued healing of President Muhammadu Buhari and peaceful coexistence of the nation. This was contained in a statement issued in Sokoto by the Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Public Affairs, Malam Imam Imam, yesterday.

According to the statement, the special prayer session, which held at the Grand Mosque in Mecca, also had in attendance pilgrims from other states who expressed delight at the efforts of the Sokoto delegation. “Our pilgrims joined other well-wishers during a special prayer session for the health of the President, stability of their state, as well as peaceful coexistence of the nation,” it read in part. The statement added that the prayer sessions were led by Islamic scholars who expressed happiness at the return of the President from his medical vacation in the United Kingdom.

“The pilgrims expressed delight at the safe return of the President. They also prayed to God to give him and his lieutenants the strength to execute their mandates for the development of the nation. “As for their state of Sokoto, the pilgrims and their officials commended Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and the state pilgrims’ welfare agency for the necessary arrangement put in place to ensure a smooth hajj exercise. They expressed optimism that the hajj season will be concluded in peace and harmony.”
