SOML: Kano govt tasks stakeholders work plan

The Kano state government has urged participants and stakeholders of the 2020 saving one million lives programme for results (SOML) to ensure an excellent and implementable work plan for a robust health care system in the state.

This was contained in a statement issued in Kano Friday by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa.

It was read at the opening of the four days 2020 Saving One Million Lives Programme for Results (SOML) Work Plan Development Workshop held at Manpower Development Institute Dutse, in Jigawa state.

The commissioner, who was represented by the permanent secretary of the ministry, Dr Binta Umar Bala, expressed appreciation for being part of the workshop.

According to him, the workshop would not have come in a better time than now, considering the zeal and passion by the present administration in revamping the health sector.

He urged participants to brainstorm and came up with realistic and strategic work plan that would guide the health system in the state.

Earlier, in his welcome remarks, the director, public health and disease control in the ministry of health, Dr Imam Wada Bello, represented by the programme manager, TB and leprosy control, Dr Ibrahim Mohammad, enjoined the participants to actively contribute in the process towards achieving the desired objectives.
