South-east PDP VP disowns fake social media accounts

The National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the South East zone, Chief Austin Umahi, has disowned fake social media accounts attributed to him.

Umahi in a release he personally signed, said that criminal elements use his name and pictures to create social media accounts and defraud unsuspecting members of the public.

“I do not operate any social media account or authorised anybody to do so on my behalf.

“Members of the public should be wary of the tricks of these impostors on the social media as anybody doing business with them does so at his or her own peril,” he said.

The PDP South East VP warned ‘the unscrupulous elements’ engaging in such acts to desist and remember that the cybercrime act of 2015 was still in force.

“Security agencies should immediately ‘fish out’ and prosecute the perpetrators of this crime,” he solicited.
