Speakership: Constituents throw weights behind Gbajabiamila

Supports from the home front came the way of Hon Femi Gbajabiamila Friday in Abuja as constituents from his Surulere 1 Federal Constituency declared  their supports for his aspiration as Speaker of the 9th House of Representatives billed for inauguration on Tuesday next week.

The constituents under the aegis of  Ajowa Community Development Association  Surulere Lagos expressed their support for Gbajabiamila’s aspiration at a media briefing in Abuja .

Speaking onbehalf of the Constituents, the Secretary -General of the Development Association, Dr Kobi Emmanuel Gold said in line with the charity begins at home expression, the people of Surulere 1 federal constituency decided to relocate to Abuja to give the needed moral support to their illustrious son and patron, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila in his quest for Speakership of the 9th House of Representatives .

According to him, going by support base already gathered by the fifth time federal lawmaker  across the country, it is very clear that he will get it this time around .

“We firmly stand in support of our son, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila in whom we are pleased, as he contests to  be made  Speaker of the 9th National Assembly.

“He has been a worthy Representive for us, we strongly believe he will make a worthy Speaker for the 9th  National Assembly and by extension, helped in delivering good governance to Nigerians at the federal level”, he said .

He disclosed that executive members of the Association  will remain in Abuja till Tuesday next week when election both the 9th Senate and the House of Representatives will be inaugurated during which elections for the four presiding positions at both chambers will be conducted among the various aspirants .

Meanwhile , Hon Gbajabiamila had declared that his aspiration for the Speakership of the 9th House of Representatives along with Hon Ahmed Wase  as Deputy Speaker is anchored on a simple vision of “Nation Building: A joint Task”.

Gbajabiamila who made the declaration at the unveiling of Legislative Agenda by Senator Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan said if elected , the vision will serve as the driven force upon which the 9th House of Representatives and by extension, National Assembly used to better the lots of Nigerians.
