Specialist hospital set to offer free cleft lip, palate surgery


Dalhatu Araf specialist hospital Lafia, Nasarawa state said all it is set to offer free surgery for cleft lip and palate patients in the state and environs.


This was contained in a statement signed by the acting public relations officer of the hospitalm, Mrs.Namo Ruth Hankuri, and made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Lafia.
The statement said Dalhatu Araf specialist hospital Lafia will partner Good Smile Africa and The Smile Train to offer the free surgery.


The Chief Medical Director of Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Lafia, Dr. Hassan Ikrama, said the surgery which is expected to be free of change is for all categories of people suffering from cleft lip and palate and will be taking place from Friday, December 4 to Sunday, 6, 2020, at the main theater of the Hospital, as from 8am daily.

He said the free surgery was meant to put smile and restore confidence to the people living with cleft lip and palate in Nasarawa state and environs.
The statement therefore, called on all affected persons to cease the opportunity to access the free surgery.
