…Splits in Nasarawa over deputy gov’s suspension

Crisis is brewing in the Nasarawa state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a group under the aegis of Nasarawa state Concerned APC members have threatened to deal with “those behind the alleged suspension of the deputy governor, Comrade Damishi Luka Barau.”
Addressing a press conference in Lafia, leader of the group, Hon. Nathaniel Isah Nathaniel, alleged that the suspension was a calculated attempt to “rubbish the personality of the deputy governor.”
The leader warned whoever was behind the plot to stop or face the wrath of the group.
He said: “We dare whatever power that wants to create uncertainty and turmoil in our state or benefit from chaos and warn them to be careful.”
Nathaniel said the group would not fold its arms and watch some individuals create confusion in an already tensed atmosphere in the state, saying that “it seems some people prefer war than peace and harmony, even at a time that our people are still in refugee camps in their own state.”
The group claimed that the suspension was orchestrated to disrupt the peace that the state enjoyed.
