St. Francis set for annual Inter-House competition

The stage is set for the 26th edition of the St. Francis Catholic Secondary School’s annual inter-house sports competition scheduled to hold on Saturday at the school’s premises in the Idimu area of Lagos.
Administrator of the school, Rev. Fr. Maduabuchi Leo Muoneme, S.J. who disclosed this in Lagos, stressed that the competition has been improving each passing year and that apart from the usual activities such as march past, games and races lined up for the day, “the spectacular thing about this edition is the inclusion of races such as “Hurdles” and “Langa”.
Fr. Leo, the Chief Host of the event who spoke through Mrs. Amanda Anomfueme said some notable dignitaries will grace the occasion. They include Mr Olu Daramola (SAN), Chairman; Mr. and Mrs. Edu .O. Ahmed, Special Guest of Honour; Mrs Ebele Perpetua Anto, Mother of the Day; Dr Abumere Abulimen, Father of the Day and Mr Emeka Nwani, Special Sports Personality, among others.
For the purpose of the competition, students and members of staff of the school have been grouped into the four houses – Assisi (Green House), Loyola (Red House), Olorunfunmi (Blue House) and Cusimano (Yellow House) with each house headed by the House Mistress and House Master.
During the last inter-house sports competition, Loyola (Red) House emerged the overall winner.
