Stakeholders urge Nigerians to support NAPAAS in nation building

The National Coordinator of Women Auxiliary Nigeria Legion, Dr. Charity Ogbole, stressed the need for wealthy Nigerians to assist the less privileged, especially the wives of men who have used their youthful period to serve the nation till death or retirement.

According to Ogbole, such support would help reduce crime, the high level of poverty , and as well reduce the demand for help or not at all from the rich due to self-reliance to the assisted Nigerians.

According to her, women that lost their spouses serving the nation are left alone most of the time to face challenges from all facet of life without help.
“But the way NAPAAS has done it now is to make sure they are assisted financially, equipped with things that can help them to be on their own. Sustain, care, and even share with others.”

Further, the National Coordinator commended the efforts of NAPAAS, in taking care of the families of the Ex-service men, wives, children, as well as that of the fallen heroes.
“What we see today since time in memorial, is overwhelming. If they’re able to wipe off tears from our faces and also achieve this in just a short period of time, then imagine what it will be like in another 10, 15 to 30 years to come.

“Their good heart and gestures towards humanity won’t be left unrewarded because even the holy books directs, able doing persons to reach out to those in need around them and I know that NAPAAS will be glad carrying out this mandate in the long run.”

She urged the beneficiaries to take the opportunity given more seriously and not let the stakeholders down, adding that, they put the acquired knowledge to work, by also training their children and the society at large. “If the home is fine, the nation will definitely be impacted.”

Earlier, the Managing Director/Chairman NAPAAS Alhaji Mohammed Aminu Bello said the platform allows interested beneficiaries and investors to key in, to see how everyone can benefit from it.
“It is an awareness program to see what we are doing and key into it. We have done this in Jos, Kaduna and it is gradually becoming a daily routine for us at NAPAAS. Over 2000 people have benefited from this initiative.

“As you have seen on the program, we kick-started with honouring the widows, children and families of the fallen heroes on Thursday, then today Friday, celebrating the ex-servicemen, wives and family, and tomorrow Saturday, being the grand finale, will conclude with series of events as humanitarian where we visit the motherless homes and many more, have a business roundtable discussion, a world press conference for you journalists, and so on.”
