States FA Elections: Babagana calls for free, fair, transparent process

Borno State Football Association chairman  Alhaji Babagana Kalili has called on the Nigeria Football Federation to ensure that the upcoming football association elections  in all the 36 states and FCT are free, fair and transparent.

Kalili, a member of the NFF executive board told our correspondent in Abuja  that as the incumbent chairman in his home state of Bornu, he has made sure that the forthcoming election is void of rancour by ensuring that everyone who is qualified  is allowed to contest.

He noted that it is the civic right of every one of them that must be exercised and as such whosoever has met the prerequisite condition to contest must not be disenfranchised

The amiable chairman  noted that he not condemning other contestants to the position but maintained that his board will midwife a credible, free, fair and transparent election because it is open to all.

Kalili, who double as the chairman of Match Commissioners committee on the NFF Board noted further that he has done so much for his state and for that reason, his people particularly the stakeholders are rooting for his re-election.

“My work will speak for me as I go for the election. I have sincerely served my people and all the stakeholders are at peace with me because whatsoever I want to do, I put them in the picture. They want me to return so that I will continue with the good work I am doing.”

He said his administration has taken football to the grassroots despite the challenges of the insurgence and added that his board is using football to keep the youth busy so that they would not be lured into crimes and criminality.
