Still on the gang violence in Misau

On January 17, 2022, Blueprint newspaper published my article with the above caption, stating that residents of Misau local government area in Bauchi state are in dire need of urgent intervention from Bauchi state government and other security agencies; the needed attention to tackle the menace of Kwarawa gang violence.

The aforesaid statement is of course a naked truth, Kwarawa gang in Misau unleash violence on residents with impunity. The criminal group are involved in leads burglary, theft, snatching of valuable items, beating people, resulting in many being killed while others injured and taken to the hospital.

Based on what I gathered after series of observations, investigating and interviewing people, many said some highly placed individuals in Misau are behind the Kwarawa boys by bailing them from police stations and courts thereby compromising the fight against crimes.

It’s undeniable that the people of Misau are in dire need of urgent intervention from the Bauchi state government, Nigeria Police Force and other sisters agency in tackling this menace of Kwarawa gang in Misau and environs.

Bauchi state government has purchased and distributed 50 patrol vehicles to security agencies, but the fact is there is no improvement in tackling insecurity across the state.

Therefore, there is need for all and sundry to join hands with government and security agencies across Bauchi state to fight crime by divulging information with a view to fishing criminals out.

Finally, I wish to call on the government to set up a secret security committee that will be charged with monitoring and ensuring good, quality services for safeguarding the lives and properties of the people of Misau.
