Stock market dips 0.06% to N27.24trn

Transactions on the floor of Nigerian Exchange on Wednesday dipped, shedding N17 billion.

The NGX trading result showed that Market capitalisation of listed equities declined by 0.06 per cent to N27.238 trillion from N27.300 trillion recorded on Tuesday.

The NGX All Share Index also depreciated 31.07 basis points to 50594.97 points from 50626.04 points reported the previous day.

Investors traded 121.160 million shares valued at N4.168 billion in 4369 deals against 129.166 million shares cost N2.861 billion exchanged hands the previous day in 4706 deals.

An analysis of the investment during the day indicated that Lasaco Insurance led gainers table during the day, gaining 10.00 per cent to N0.99 UPDC REITs followed with a gain of 9.71 per cent to N1.13, Honey Well Flour gained 9.69 per cent to N2.49 , Chams Plc up by 8.70 per cent to N0.25 Japaul Gold increased by 7.41 per cent to N0.29.

On the contrary, Learn Africa topped losers chart during the day, dropping by 10.0 per cent to N2.34 UPL trailed with a loss of 9.79 per cent to N2.12, Cornerstone Insurance dipped by 9.33 per cent to N0.68, Unity Bank fell by 4.26 per cent to N0.45, Fidelity Bank down by 3.85 per cent to N3.00.
