Stock market gains N135bn

Trading on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) maintained its growth trend following gains recorded by some highly capitalised stock.

Market capitalisation of listed equities increased by N135 billion or 1.01 per cent  to N13.441 trillion from N13.306 trillion reported on Wednesday. The NSE All Share Index also grew by 276.72 basis points  to 27629.66 points from  27352.94  traded the previous day. Investors traded 272.600 milliin shares worth N4.497 billion in 3425 deals against 363.972 million shares worth N4.515 billion in 3451 deals.

A review of the trading result during the day showed that Nestle Nigeria Plc led gainers table during the day, appreciating by N20.00 to close at N1220.00, MTN Nigeria Communications Plc  followed with a gain of N2.00 to close at N138.00, Dangote Cement added N1.00 to close at N167.00, Stanbic IBTC increased by N0.70 kobo to close at N35.00 while Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI) went up by N0.65 kobo to close at N7.50 kobo

Okomu oil Palm on the contrary topped losers chart during the day, dropping by N4.35 kobo to close at N40.15 kobo, MRS trailed with a loss of N2.05 kobo to close at N18.80 kobo, Unilever Nigeria Plc down by N0.90 kobo to close at N27.00, NCR dipped by N0.55 kobo to close at N4.95 kobo while UPL declined by N0.16 kobo to close at N1.44 kobo.
