Stock market gains N15bn

Trading activities on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) Monday opened week on a positive trend, gaining N15 billion.

Market Capitalisation of listed equities increased by 0.12 per cent to N12.967 trillion from N12.952 trillion reported on Friday. The NSE All Share Index also appreciated by 29.87 absolute points  to 24858.89 points from 24829.02 points traded the previous day.

Investors traded 158.719 million shares valued at N1.635 billion in 3940 deals against 127.204 million shares worth N2.153 billion in 2844 deals.

An analysis of the transactions for the day showed that Nestle Nigeria Plc led gainers table, increasing by N56.80 kobo to close at N1256.00, Okomu Oil followed with a gain of N6.40 kobo to close at N70.40 kobo, UACN added N0.55 kobo to close at N8.00, PZ Cusson gained N0.35 kobo to close at N4.20 kobo, Fidson Healthcare added N0.22 kobo to close at N3.20 kobo.

On the contrary, Unilever Nigeria Plc topped losers chart, dropping by N1.70 kobo to close at N15.30 kobo, Ardova trailed with a loss of N1.30 kobo to close at N11.75 kobo, Nasco fell by N0.90 kobo to close at N10.70 kobo, Guaranty Trust Bank declined by N0.35 kobo to close at N22.35 kobo while Glaxosmith dipped by N0.35 kobo to close at N5.50 kobo.
