Stock market gains N330bn on 2Q financials, interim dividend

Trading activities on the floor of Nigerian Exchange yesterday took positive trend, gaining N330 billion as some listed companies released their second quarter financial scorecard and interim dividend.

Soecifically, Market Capitalisation of listed equities increased by 1.67 per cent to N20.103 trillion from N19.773 trillion it opened on Monday.

The Nigeria Exchange All Share Index also appreciated by 632.87 basis points to 38585.52 points from 37952.65 points traded the previous day.

Investors bought 203.110 million shares worth N1.724 billion in 3969 deals against 462.808 million shares valued at N1.199 billion exchanged hands in 3610 deals

Analysis of the transaction for the day showed that Total Nigeria PLC led gainers table during the day, gaining 10.00 per cent to N184.80 kobo, Cutix PLC followed with a gain of 9.77 per cent to close at N4.38 kobo, Oando PLC gained 9.73 per cent to close at N3.61 kobo, Dangote Cement added 7.83 per cent to close at N248.00, Courteville Business Solution increased by 4.55 per cent to N0.24 kobo.

On the contrary, AIICO Insurance topped losers chart during the day, shedding 8.70 per cent to close st N1.05 kobo, Sovereign Insurance trailed with a loss of 6.45 per cent to close at N0.29 kobo, Veritas Capital down by N4.0 per cent to N0.24 kobo, Livestock Feeds fell by 3.55 per cent to N1.90 kobo while Ardova PLC dipped by 3.23 per cent to close at N15.00
