Stock market gains N58bn

Trading activities at the Nigrrian Stock Exchange on Tuesday continued in a positive trend, gaining N58 billion.

Specifically, market capitalisation of listed equities increased by 0.52 per cent  to N11.023 trillion from N10.965 trillion reported the previous day. 

The NSE All Share Index also appreciated by 145.08 basis points to 29347.62 points from 29202.54 points traded on Wednesday. 

Investors traded a turnover of 224.028 million shares worth N2.013 billion in 3127 deals against 481.626 million shares valued at N2.877 billion exchanged hands in 3559 deals.

The NSE trading result during the day showed that Guaranty Trust Bank recorded the highest gain, appreciating by N0.70 kobo to close at N34.25 kobo, FBNHoldings followed with a gain of N0.45 kobo to close at N7.80 kobo, Wapco increased by N0.45 kobo to close at N12.00, Glaxosmith Kline gained N0.40 kobo to close at N8.95 kobo, NEM Insurance grew by N0.20 kobo to close at N2.20 kobo.

On the contrary, Flour Mills Nigeria Plc recorded the highest loss during the day, declining by N0.40 kobo to close at N16.60 kobo, Eterna Plc trailed with a loss of N0.35 kobo to close at N4.00, Ikeja Hotel fell by N0.20 kobo to close at N1.85 kobo, Zenith down by N0.15 kobo to close at N20.45 kobo, ABC transport declined by N0.04 kobo to close at N0.44 kobo.

The result further showed Zenith Bank Plc was the toast of investors during the day exchanging 45.367 million shares valued at N927.744 million, Lasaco Insurance followed with account of 42.336 million shares worth N12.694 million, Access Bank traded 21.651 million shares cost N129.302 million, FBNHoldings exchanged 17.737 million shares valued N131.391 million while Fidelity Bank Plc sold a total of 13.023 million shares cost N25.323 million.
