Stock market increases by N134bn

Despite pressure, coronavirus outbreak mounted global economies, the nation’s equity bank yesterday close northward, improving by N134 billion.

Specifically, Market Capitalisation of listed equities yesterday increased by N134 billion or 1.24 per cent to N10.905 trillion from N10.771 trillion reported the previous day.

The Nigerian Stock Exchange NSE All Share Index also appreciated by 255.81 basis points to 20925.19 points from 20609.38 points.

Investors traded 1.442 billion shares worth N5.569 billion in 4647 deals against 336.430 million shares valued at N4.127 billion in 4184 deals.

An analysis of the investment showed that MTN Nigeria Plc led gainers table during the day, gaining N2.80 kobo to close at N94.80 kobo, Larfage Wapco  followed with a gain of N0.95 kobo to close at N10.75 kobo, Zenith Bank Plc gained N0.90 kobo to close at N12.95 kobo, Custodian Investment gained N0.50 kobo to close at N5.75 kobo, while United Bank for Africa (UBA) gained N0.45 kobo to close at N5.45 kobo.

On the contrary, Ardova Plc topped losers chart, dropping by N1.35 kobo to close at N12.45 kobo, Cadbury Nigeria Plc trailed with a loss of N0.70 kobo to close at N6.30 kobo, Flour Mills Nigeria Plc fell by N0.50 kobo to close at N21.00, BUA Cement down by N0.30 kobo to close at N31.50 kobo , Mansard Insurance declined by N0.17 kobo to close at N1.58 kobo.
