Stock market loses N22bn

Transactions on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange yesterday returned to bearish trend following loses recorded by MTN Nigeria Communications Plc. The NSE trading result showed that Capitalisation of listed equities declined by N22 billion or 0.17 per cent  to N12.906 trillion from N12.928 trillion reported on Monday. The NSE All Share Index also depreciated by 43.79 basis points to 26513.65 points from 26557.44 reported the previous day.Investors traded 174.414 million shares valued at N2.317 billion in 2484 deals against 129.078 million shares worth N2.742 billion exchanged hands the previous day in 2595 deals.An analysis of the trading activities for the day showed that Cement Company of Northern Nigeria led gainers table during the day, gaining N0.65 kobo to close at N15.85 kobo, Nahco followed with a gain of N0.12 kobo to close at N2.45 kobo, United Capital Plc appreciated by N0.07 kobo to close at N2.10 kobo, FBNholdings increased by N0.05 kobo to close at N5.30 kobo, Fidson Healthcare added N0.50 kobo to close at N4.00

On the contrary, MTN Nigeria Communications Plc topped losers chart, dropping by N1.00 to close at N129.00, Glaxosmith Kline trailed with a loss of N0.70 kobo to close at N6.40 kobo, Dangote Flour Mills Nigeria Plc fell by N0.55 Kobo to close at N22.45 kobo, Guaranty Trust Bank down by N0.20 kobo to close at N26.65 kobo, Africa Prudential Plc went down by N0.10 kobo to close at N3.90 kobo.
