Stock market maintains bullish trend, gains N140bn

Equity price on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange closed higher on Wednesday, maintaining positive outlook for the third trading session, gaining N140 billion.


The positive trend recordrd during the day was due to increased bargain hunting and positioning
ahead of the year end and expectations on the 2021 corporate actions for early filers Specifically, market Capitalisation of listed equities appreciated by 0.76 per cent to N18 550 trillion from N18.410 trillion reported on Tuesday.


The Nigerian Stock Exchange All Share Index grew by 267.93 basis points to 35493.15 points
from 35225.22 points reported the previous day.
Investors exchanged 650.549 million shares valued at N2.287 billion in 3952 deals against
264.241 million shares valued at N2.947 billion exchanged hands in 4354 deals.


A review of trading activities showed that Nestle Nigeria Plc led gainers table during the day,
gaining N105 to close at N1505.00, Flour Mills Nigeria Plc followed with a gain of N1.80 kobo
to close at N26.50 kobo, Zenith Bank Plc gained N0.60 kobo to close at N24.10 kobo, Guinness
Nigeria Plc added N0.60 kobo to close at N18.60 kobo, Guaranty Trust Bank added N0.40 kobo to close at N33.95 kobo.
