Stock market sustains bullish run, gains N139bn

The nation’s domestic equity market on Monday continued in bullish run as the two market indicators of the Nigerian Exchange close higher, appreciating by 0.49 per cent.

Market capitalisation of listed equities increased by N139 billion to N28.013 trillion from N27.874 trillion reported the previous day.

The NGX All Share Index also grew by 257.24 basis points to 51962.85 points from 51705.61 reported the previous day

Investors traded 266.513 million shares valued at N2.602 billion in 5050 deals against 156.088 million shares cost N1.834 billion exchanged hands the previous day in 4312 deals.

An analysis of the investment showed that

Ecobank Transnational Incorporated recorded the highest gain during the day, increasing by 9.79 per cent to N10.65, John Holt followed with a gain of 9.52 per cent to N0.69, Linkage Assurance gained 9.43 per cent to close at N0.58, Okomuoil added 8.53 per cent to N210.00, Cornerstone Insurance up by 6.45 per cent to N0.66.

On the contrary,

PZ Cusson topped losers chart during the day, dropping by 10 per cent to N11.25, Eterna Plc followed with a drop of 9.33 per cent to N6.80, RTBriscoe dipped by 6.25 per cent to N0.45, Ardova Plc dropped by 5.09 per cent to N13.05, Nigerian Breweries down by 3.42 per cent to N57.95.
