Stop politicizing PMB’s health issue – Senator Buhari

Th e Chairman Senate Committee on ICT and Cybercrime, Dr Abdulfatai Buhari, has advised Nigerians against politicizing President Muhammadu Buhari’s health. Senator Buhari handed down the warning in Ibadan while speaking with journalists on the Pro and Anti -Resign or come back home and Resume protests in Abuja by some Nigerian over the continued stay of President Buhari in London.

Th e Senator representing Oyo North Senatorial District pointed out that there was no basis for anyone or group of people to turn the sickness of President Buhari to a political issue as human being can fall sick at any time, saying, “its abnormal to be playing politics with our president’s health status”.

“ Th ere is no basis for the protest, those calling for his resignation should have allow the constitution of the Federal republic of Nigeria to guide their action, the vice president is the acting president and he is eff ectively playing his role as stated in the constitution and whatever he do or say in that capacity is fi nal because he is in charge” he said. Senator Buhari added that “anybody can be ill at anytime, we shouldn’t politicise it , its abnormal to be playing politics with our president’s health status, he meant well for this nation and he is already achieving his mission, he promised war against corruption and he is winning , corruption has reduced drastically, view it from any angle”. He however charged Nigerians to stop placing emphasis on sentiment rather than working for the unity and oneness of the country, adding that “ the development and advancement of Nigeria is a collective responsibility which must be done diligently and faithfully
