Sultan, Sanusi, others pay tribute to Isiyaku Rabiu

 

The remains of the Kano based Islamic Scholar and Business Mogul, Sheikh Isiyaku Rabiu, was committed to mother earth in Kano yesterday after jana’iza prayers at the Isiyaku Rabiu Jumuat mosque, located at Goron-Dutse quarters in Kano.

His remains, which was flown to Kano from the United Kingdom, arrived Malam Aminu Kano International Airport at exactly 7am and quickly conveyed to the deceased residence for members of his family to pay their last respect.

The funeral prayers, which was presided over by the Chief Imam of the Shiekh Isiyaku Rabiu Jumuat mosque, Shiekh Tijjani Sise, was attended by hordes of eminent personalities including governors, ministers, Imams, traditional rulers, Islamic scholars within and outside African sub-region.

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, governors of Jigawa, Niger and Katsina as well as the richest man in Africa, Alhaji Aliko Dangote and the Chief of Army Staff, General Yusuf Tukur Buratai were in the front of the bier conveying the deceased corpse , along side of the deceased family, leading and heading to the burial site, situated inside the deceased residence.

Wives of the President, Hajiya Aisha Buhari and that of the Vice President, Mrs. Yemi Osinbajo, among others eminent personalities and top government functionaries, were in the deceased residence at the time the funeral prayers were being conducted.

A gubernatorial aspirant under Green Party of Nigeria (GPN), Abdulsalami Zaura, had earlier conveyed his condolences to Ganduje, the Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II and the entire people in the state over Rabiu death.

In the condolence message personally signed by Zaura, the governorship aspirant also condoled with the entire family of late Isyaku Rabi’u, and the entire Muslim Ummah of Kano State, Nigeria and beyond.
