Sumpyem: Gindiri community berates Lalong over Supreme Court ruling

Concerned community members of Gindiri town of Mangu local government area of Plateau state have urged Governor Simon Lalong to install Arc Nuhu Ibrahim Manomi as the Sumpyem of Gindiri in compliance with the Supreme Court judgement.

This was contained in a text of press briefing by  Auwal Haruna Ma’aji Tuesday, which said the “community is now in disarray due to non-compliance with the Supreme Court judgement of February 1, 2019 by Governor Simon Lalong.

He said the “communal living, peaceful and harmonious coexistence of its people is under threat due to inaction of the Plateau state government in implementing the judgment/orders of the Supreme Court accordingly”.

Ma’aji said there was need for urgent and decisive action by the state government in order to prevent any ugly security breach that may arise as a result of the non-compliance.

Ma’aji said Arc Nuhu Ibrahim Manomi was duly selected by 8 out of the 11 kingmakers in 2004; upheld by Plateau State High Court in 2006 and by the Supreme Court.

“We expect Governor Simon Lalong to comply with the court order, just as he did to the state election tribunal by swearing in the chairman of Langtang North LGC,” he said.
