Super Eagles back on track as Musa’s brace humble Iceland

Striker Ahmed Musa produced man-of-the match display to fire the Super Eagles of Nigeria to 2-0 victory over Iceland in the second group D match at the ongoing 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The Nigerian side now move closer to qualifying for the knockout stage after their spectacular performance against the tiny European country.

Talking about how it all happened, after a barren first half, Musa scored the first goal for Nigeria in the 49th minute of the game.
Nigeria clear a long Iceland throw from their area and work it to Victor Moses down the right.

The Chelsea wing-back surged clear and pulled out a cross to Ahmed Musa.

The Leicester striker still has plenty to do, taking a deft touch with outside of his boot before ripping in a half-volley high past Iceland Goalkeeper, Hannes Halldorsson.

Musa was at work again with a solo drive-in from his usual left flanks in the 75th minute before he smashed in a second goal to seal the encounter.

With the much fancied result, the Gernot Rohr tutored team are now second on the log with Croatia dictating pace.
They will take on out-of-favour Argentina in their last group game, while Croatia sign off first round duty with Iceland tie.
