Super Eagles rise in FIFA ranking

The Super Eagles have moved four places up in the latest FIFA Rankings released on Wednesday by the world football governing body.

Just last month, the three-time African champions were 36th in the world, but after wins over Benin and Lesotho in 2021 AFCON qualifiers, the Super Eagles are now 32nd in the world.

The Gernot Rohr side defeated Benin 1-0 in Porto Novo and four days later hammered Lesotho 3-0 in Lagos.

In Africa, the Super Eagles are now in third position behind the Terangha Lions of Senegal ( 22 )and Carthage Eagles of Tunisia (26).

Algeria (33), Morocco (34), Egypt (46), Ghana (49), Cameroon (55), Mali (57), and Ivory Coast (59) completes Africa’s top ten ranked countries.

Belgium remain the No 1 team in the world with France, Brazil, England and Portugal making the Top Five.
