Supreme coach blames loss to early tactical errors

—-National League:

Head coach of Supreme Court of Abuja, Henry Haggai, has attributed his side’s loss to Wikki Tourists Football club of Bauchi to early tactical mistakes by his players who could not manage undue pressure from opponents.

The Abuja-based team otherwise known as the Apex Boys conceded two quick goals against Wikki Tourists of Bauchi despite, having a better control of the game decided at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stdium, Bauchi.

In the first half, both sides had their chances but lack of better combination between Henry Ochuba and Mark Ayem in the defence line of Supreme Court coupled with inefficiency from Bobai Malachi in the midfield dealt a blow to the visiting team.
With the damage already done, the second half of the tricky tie failed to produce any goal for either sides who squandered their clear opportunities.

Speaking after the encounter, coach Haggai, who was visibly unhappy, observed that his team wouldn’t have lost if they played to instructions from the blast of the whistle.

He said: “Honestly, my players didn’t play their game early enough in the match. I came here to pick a point but it has gone the way I didn’t expect. For me, the players are good enough to have even won the game. After the first half, they were a sorry.
“Coming into the second half, it was unfortunate they couldn’t respond to posers from the home team. All the same, we will go back and work more.
On Sunday, Kogi United will be in Abuja to confront Supreme Court FC in the fourth match of the season.
