Supreme FC confront Kaduna Utd ahead of NNL opener

One of the newly promoted sides to the Nigeria National League (NNL), Supreme FC of Abuja will today engage Premier League club, Kaduna United, in a warm up game before the kickoff of the new football league season. The game has been fixed to kick-start by 3 pm.
2013/2014 NNL season has already been scheduled to begin as from February 15 when the Abuja-based team will travel to keep a date with Niger Tornadoes in an opening encounter in Minna.

Ahead of the new season, Supreme Fc are gearing up to face stiffer challenges in the country’s second most rated league after fighting hard to gain promotion last season. They have so far engaged many teams including ABS FC, Nasarawa United and other domestic clubs in a number of test games.
Supreme FC’s head coach, Henry Haggai, who spoke in Abuja said that his players are not leaving anything to chance as his technical crew alongside the players are determined to earn speedy promotion into the nation’s top flight league-Glo-Nigeria Premier League.

Coach Haggai maintained: “The players are already in high spirits and they are aware of the task ahead of them. So far, we have engaged many teams in friendly matches. And with our performance, in those games I think our target will be met.
“Part of our target is to grab Premier League ticket as well as win FCT Federation Cup before moving ahead to represent the territory at the FA Cup. And it is our desire and commitment to work and make sure we achieve our mandate.”

Also speaking, general manager of the team, Mr. Tolulope Oguntimehin, while assuring players of improved welfare, expressed confidence that with dedication of his team and steady support from the club’s management, nothing will hinder the team from reclaiming their place in the high places of country’s soccer planet.
He said: “Right from time, our target has been to gain promotion into the Premier League. Though it won’t be an easy task but we are confident that we will get there. That doesn’t mean we are underrating any team but we intend to power on, believing that God will see us through.
