Suspected herdsmen kill 3 villagers in Oyo

Tension is now mounting in villages across Akinyele local government area of Oyo state following the killing of three persons by suspected herdsmen.

It was gathered that the suspected armed herdsmen in the early hours of Sunday invaded three villages in the local government.

The suspected herdsmen were said to have thrown the villages into confusion attacking the villagers during which three of the villagers were reportedly killed by the suspected herdsmen.

Sources close to the affected villages said the three villagers killed by the armed herdsmen were identified as Ope Babalola from Babalola village, Waheed Ganiyu from Oniganna village, and Yemi Sunday Osuolale from Eguntola village.

Sources said the armed herdsmen during the attack “in the early hours of Sunday raided Ikereku, Pade, Olanla and Babalola villages killing the three villagers in their various farm locations.

The sources said the villagers however succeeded in apprehending some  of the suspected armed herdsmen  and had since been handed  over to Moniya Divisional Police station.
