Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kano state chapter have applauded governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on the reappointment of former NUJ National president, Muhammed Garba as the state commissioner of information.
The group further commended the governor over the appointment of Kabiru Ado Lakwaya as the commissioner to oversee the newly created ministry of Youths and Sports.
SWAN Kano in a congratulatory message addressed to Garba, signed by the outgoing chairman, Kano state chapter and VP North West, Rilwan Idris Malikawa Garu, hailed the appointment of the duo.
“We your comrades under the aegis of Sports Writers association of Nigeria, SWAN, Kano want to formally Congratulate you, our leader for reemerging as a member of Kano state executive Council for a second term on record. .
“Your reappointment is deserving. Your administrative contributions and innovative ideas have lifted you to this heights.
“This is a record for our pen profession, this development also recognizes that much of your success is directly attributable to your efforts.
“You have a bright future, and we look forward to our continued association,” he said.
Similarly, in a letter addressed to the state commissioner for Youths and Sports, Malikawa said “Journalists under the umbrella of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWA, Kano state chapter formally congratulate you on your nouveau as Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Kano state.
“We have followed your career for years and was excited about your recent political appointment.
“We hope you will continue to work for increased funding for sports, early release of allotted monies to sports.
