The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Kaduna state chapter has expressed shock over the death of former Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Kaduna state, Hon. Abdulazeez Mohammed Adebayo.
According to a statement signed by SWAN Secretary Kaduna state, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, in Kaduna on Monday, SWAN said he would be greatly missed.
“We are saddened and deeply mourn former Kaduna state Commissioner for Youth and Sports and GM of defunct Ranchers Bees, Hon. Abdulazeez Muhammad Adebayo who passed away on Saturday November 21, 2020 after a brief illness.
“The demise is tragic and a huge loss to the sports family, not only in Kaduna state, but the entire country,” Jacob said.
SWAN said that as an astute sports administrator while he was alive, Hon. Adebayo would be definitely missed.
“We are however, consoled that his legacies and achievements while he was alive would be forever engraved not just in our hearts, but recorded by the history books,” it added.
SWAN therefore, condoled with the Kaduna state government, Ministry of Sports Development, his immediate friends and family as well as all sports lovers. “May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannah Firdaus,” Jacob prayed.
