Switzerland club upgrade Nigerian gaffer, Adedeji, to first team

FC Witikon of Switzerland has elevated Nigerian gaffer, Adedeji Anthony Adeyemi, to the first team of the club after performing creditably with the junior side.

Adedeji is now the 1st Assistant coach of the club 2 Liga club was elated by the news of his promotion with few of Nigerians in Switzerland celebrating the feat with him

The former Stationery Stores of Lagos forward, Adedeji who recently penned a deal as the Head Coach of FC Witikon in third league has barely spent five months months in charge before this promotion came.

Speaking from his base in Switzerland, Adedeji told Blueprint correspondent on Wednesday May 31, 2023, ”What a great news of promotion from my base here in Switzerland! My club FC Witikon has promoted me to our first team 2liga as 1st Assistant Coach. This means that I will start with 2 liga come next season 2023/24 from summer. It would be recalled that I was appointed the Head Coach of 3liga in December,2022. This calls for celebration.”

The Lagos state born tactician was quick to add…”I have been with the team doing my job for five months now and that is January. After seeing my hard work, training philosophy and model, they got sparked up. Also my tactical inputs impacted and helped their junior and senior sides. That was obviously what prompted them and they told me that they have no choice than to bring me up to the second league. That is how they promoted me to the second liga. To God be the glory. As I said earlier, this calls for celebration!.”

Adedeji cut his teeth in the round leather game with the likes of FC Dubendorf and FC Kloten Frauen.

The 38-year-old, who has a UEFA B coaching license, was a former Nigeria junior international in the U-17 and U-2O levels.
