Sylva tasks corporate organisations on CSR

The minister of state for petroleum, Chief Timipre Sylva has called on corporate organisation operating in the country to take seriously their corporate social responsibility (CSR) to host communities.

Chief Sylva, who gave the advice at the Grand Finale of the National Science Quiz Competition held on Thursday in Abuja.

According to the minister, Corporates must be proactive in giving back to the society while carefully curating social impact events that will spur growth, development and capacity development of young Nigerians. 

The Competition is the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation’s flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) event.

18 Grand Finale participants drawn from Bayelsa, Edo, Akwa Ibom, Imo, Ebonyi, Abia, Osun, Lagos, Ogun, FCT, Kogi, Benue, Sokoto, Kaduna, Kebbi, Taraba, Borno and Bauchi

In his remarks, Special Guest of Honor, Alh. Aliko Dangote, asserted that over the years Competition has groomed the next generation of scientists and thought leaders in Nigeria; “young men and women who are set to be at the vanguard of innovation and industrial growth.”
