Taekwondo: Delta poaches Kebbi’s captain Kolade ahead of NSF

National team player and iconic Kebbi Taekwondo athlete, Paul Kolade, has been successfully poached by Delta state ahead of the National Sports Festival, coming up March at the Edo State capital, Benin.

Paul Kolade, who is the defending national champion in the male -74kg after clinching the gold for Kebbi State at the 2018 National Sports Festival in Abuja, will be seeking to defend the title while flying the colours of the perennial winners, Delta state.

Further investigations have revealed that Delta has been ruthless in recruiting a killer team for the festival, in order to ensure a golden shower at the event.
Other athletes that have been recruited include three gold medalists at the 2018 national sports festival, including, current African Champion, Chinazum Nwosu, who won a gold for Rivers state and the duo of Sekinat Adebayo and Adaeze Asigbe who won gold medals for Kano in Kyeorugi and Poomsae events.

Also recruited by Delta State is  former African Champion and National Champion, Uzoamaka Otuadinma and young taekwondo talent and  African Youth Games bronze medalist, Phillip Osomade.
Delta capitalized on the poor treatment and lack of welfare packages for the elite athletes from their former states to entice them to switch camps by offering more robust welfare packages
