Taking insurgency too far

It is really heart-breaking of how insurgency in this country is taken too far. In less than a week, the Nigerian soil is tinted with innocent human blood and it is becoming clearer, that no one is safe especially in the northern part of this country-what a sad situation indeed!
The situation is getting worse by the day, taking into account the attack on Muslim worshippers on Friday in Kano and the deadly attack on Damaturu in Yobe State by the insurgents.

It is ironic, that a handful of rag-tag militants would suddenly hold the country to ransom, perpetrating heinous crime against the people because of their misplace ideology and the government either failed or is not willing to bring an end to the mindless killings of the people on a daily basis.
It is imperative for the government now, to see, that this wanton killings of innocent souls and the destruction of properties is brought under control. In fact, the people are beginning to lose confidence in the ability of the government to end the insurgency, thus it seems that they are having a field day.

Rhetorics is not what is needed in the fight against insurgency, but total war and the acquisition of the necessary tools for the armed personnel to carry out their responsibility of safe guarding the shores of this country in every ramification.
It is now more than five solid years that the insurgents are having a field day and from all indications, the government is still battling with the problem. The insurgents are always deploying different tactics and strategy. What should be paramount for the government is to synergise with other organs in order to end insurgency in Nigeria. This can be done, if the need arises, through seeking the cooperation of other countries of the world.
Allowing insurgency to degenerate to a level that threaten the sanctity of human lives and destruction of properties of innocent people does not augur well for peaceful co-existence, that can allow or give room for development. The cost of maintaining peace is quite high, making the troubled states to shoulder a lot of things out of their meager resources, that can be tilted towards promoting development.

The federal government and the security apparatus should show total commitment in fighting insurgency. It is also necessary to install close circuit cameras in strategic places such as mosques, churches, schools, markets and motor parks.
Installing these cameras would go a long way in tracking down the insurgents, whenever they want to unleash mayhem on innocent people of this country.

The government also needs to partner with its neigbours such as Niger Republic, Cameroon and Chad on a joint and coordinated patrol in tracking down the insurgents right at the fringes.
Politicians should watch their words on the issue of insurgency. There is no need to politicise the issue of insurgency, considering the lives lost in the last five years.  The ordinary people of this country should also play a part on the fight against insurgency by prompt alertness on any suspicious character(s) or object to the security personnel.    Security is everybody’s business. There is need for synergy between the security personnel and the people in fighting the monster.

Nigeria is at the brink of total annihilation as a result of insurgency especially in the northern part of this country.
May Allah see us through this trying moment, that everything seems blink, Amin.
