Talata-Mafara general hospital for renovation – Yari

Zamfara state governor, Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, has said arrangements had been concluded to award the contract for the total renovation and extension of additional structures in Talata-Mafara general hospital.
Yari made the promise yesterday when he inspected the hospital where ordered for a combined action plan between the hospital management and the state engineers to submit a proposal that would ensure a complete overhaul of the hospital with an extension of wards and other basic facilities.
According to him, the extension and reconstruction project would consist of trauma, emergency, theatre and intensive care units, besides the total renovation of the existing structures.
He said, the project would also include 100 additional beds, in addition to 100 beds currently in the hospital, pointing out that, when completed, the hospital would accommodate more than 200 patients at a time.
Yari further disclosed that, since the establishment of the hospital in 1973 as a primary health centre, the hospital lacked adequate structures to enhance conducive atmosphere of both primary and secondary healthcare delivery services.
