Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal, yesterday donated blood to the victims of the Nyanya, Abuja, bomb blast.
Tambuwal had pledged to make the donation when he visited the victims at the National Hospital, and pleaded with Nigerians that had the capacity to donate blood to come forward to do so.

He fulfilled his promise later at the National Blood Transfusion Cebtre.
The speaker had warned the political class against playing politics with the issue of insecurity, adding, “From what I have seen among the victims, I doubt if they are members of any political party.”

He said: “We should stop playing politics, we should address the issue and it is not about any religion.  As leaders in this country, we must all come together and support the government in addressing this challenge.”
Tambuwal added: “I will go to the National Blood Transfusion Centre and donate some blood for the victims. And I call on well-meaning Nigerians who have the capacity to donate blood to please come out and donate blood and whatever is required for the survival of the victims.”
