Taraba budgets N96bn for 2018

Taraba state governor, Darius Dickson Ishaku, yesterday, presented the sum of N96.6 billion for 2018 fiscal year to the state House of Assembly.
Tagged “Budget of Sustainable Growth,” the estimate is N14 billion less than that of 2017.
Giving the breakdown of the budget, the governor said fifty one billion, two hundred and thirty million, four hundred and twenty eight thousand, Nine hundred and fifty naira representing 53.0 per cent will be spent on personnel cost.
According to the governor, overhead cost within the year will take twenty two billion, six hundred and thirty million, one hundred and sixty four thousand, four hundred and ninety eight naira from the budget.
Governor Ishaku explained further that capital expenditure for the year is estimated at forty five billion, three hundred and sixty seven million, three hundred and twelve thousand, one hundred and seventy right naira.
The state ministry of education is allocated the highest amount of five billion, five hundred and sixty two million, four hundred and thirty thousand, five hundred and ninety one naira representing 5.76% of the total budget.
Receiving the proposal, the Speaker of the state Assembly, Hon Peter Abel Diah, promised to speed up debates on the estimates in order to ensure its timely passage.
