Taraba Central richest but least developed zone – NNPP candidate

A former national president of Trade Union Congress (TUC), Comr. Bobboi Bala Kaigama, Wednesday, disclosed that his Taraba Central is the richest in the state but least in development.

Kaigama, who is the Taraba Central senatorial candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), disclosed this while speaking on Taraba Correspondent Chapel Media Parley, the Road to 2023 programme, saying lack of competent representation from the zone at the national level has made the zone the least developed in the state.

According to him, the central senatorial zone of Taraba would have not just been a blessing to Taraba but to entire Nigeria if the natural resources were harnessed and put to proper use. He also blamed what he described as poor representation by both the APC and PDP, especially at the National Assembly.

“My zone is the richest but least in development. It is the only senatorial zone that has not been linked to the national grid, a zone that has no university, a zone that has no hospital and other social amenities.

“The central zone is the richest in terms of agriculture, mineral resources and tourism but is the poorest in terms of infrastructure. At the Federal Character Commission, we are the least because we lack a strong voice in representation.

“I have gone round the central zone of Taraba and I have seen the cry in the faces of the people. I have served Taraba workers and have served the nation’s workers. I know the plight of workers and how to tackle it,” he said.

The NNPP senatorial candidate also discouraged the Taraba state government’s idea of selling Mambila Beverages.
