Taraba governor appoints SSG, Chief of Staff 

The executive governor of Taraba state, Dr Agbu Kefas, has approved the appointments of Chief, Barr, G.T Kataps as the new Secretary to the State Government (SGS).

The governor, in a press statement, signed by the head of service of the state, Mrs Suzy Jemimah Nathan said the appointment takes immediate effect. 

Kataps until his appointment was the Vice Chairman North of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). 

In a similar development, the governor also appointed Dr Jeji William, Mni as his  Chief of Staff.

The governor in a statement signed by the head of service of the state noted that the appointments is with immediate effect.

Jeji Williams until his appointment was a Permanent Secretary Taraba Liaison Office, Abuja.

In another development, the Taraba State House of Assembly on Wednesday dissolved its 9th Assembly. 

The Speaker of the House,  Rt. Hon Kizito Bonzena while delivering his speech at the plenary said the 9th Assembly processed over 40 Bills and executive orders for passage and assent by the executive governor. 

He stressed that the Bill’s and orders were implemented to facilitate governance and bring dividends of democracy to the people.

He noted that the 9th assembly lived up to the expectations as demanded by the 1999 constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria (as amended).

He informed that it is imperative to put on record that the more than 726 legislative days which the house undertook and conducted in legislative business in the state had not only been rancor free, but eventful and fruitful for Taraba state.

He highlighted that emotions are processed into resolutions, adding that the whole mark of legislative engagement at the plenary and committee usually culminates into motions.

He appreciated the governor, Dr Kefas Dantala Agbu, for being very considerate in exercising his constitutional powers of using proclamation for the dissolution of the assembly. 

He assured the governor that Taraba state house of assembly will be at the forefront of supporting his administration.
