Taraba NLC urges Gov Ishaku to pay outstanding salaries of LGA, primary school teachers

The Taraba state Chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Peter Gambo on Thursday charged Governor Darius Ishaku to as a matter of urgency clear the outstanding salaries of local government staff and primary school teachers to boost their morale for maximum productive in service.

Gambo, who stated this in Jalingo during the delegate conference of the union said Governor Ishaku should immediately commence the implementation of all promotions at all levels to ginger the workers.

He noted that the recent signing into law of the thirty thousand naira (N30,000) new minimum wage by President Muhammad Buhari would boost workers morale.

“We are calling on Governor Darius Ishaku to implement it at par with federal workers since all civil savants go to the same market” he said.

The NLC boss who commented   the administration of governor Ishaku for lifting embargo on employment urged him to make a deliberate effort to bridge the gap in civil service by ensuring that qualified personal are engaged.

“This has become imperative because as it is,  the senior cadre is over bloated while the middle and the lower cadre lacks required hands” he said.
