Taxi operators, car hires, airlines, others get FG incentives

The Federal government said the planned incentives in the form of palliatives for the aviation sector will see beneficiaries from the entire aviation ecosystem including taxi operators, car hire, airlines, ground handling companies among others enjoy different forms of waivers.

Director General, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, Capt. Musa Nuhu, however, disclosed that such palliatives as being canvassed by stakeholders from government could come in the form of grants and loans.

Captain Nuhu explained that such loans however would have a long time  payment moratorium attached and come with a single digit plan for firms and government agencies in the sector.

The NCAA helmsman spoke at an online forum tagged Aviation Leadership CEO forum with the Topic: COVID-19, Civil Aviation Regulations in Africa’.

The elsewhere Nigeria representative at the International Civil Aviation Organisation ICAO in Montreal, Canada  affirmed that “It is not only the airlines that have lost money, it is the entire aviation ecosystem.”

Speaking of the drop in revenue of the NCAA, he revealed that “90% of my source of funding the NCAA, we have lost over 90% of our revenue in the last 3 months or so, we are operating basically on our reserve we are about to run out.”
