The Kaduna State Ministry of Sports Development has constituted a six-man committee to organize the maiden edition of the U-16 clay court tennis tournament,
A press release signed by the state information officer, Jummai Nuhu and made available to sports reporters in Kaduna on Saturday said the event, which is aimed at reviving tennis in the state, will run from January 20 to January 26, 2020.
According to Jummai, the tournament will be sponsored by the Northern Cables Processing and Manufacturing Company (NOCACO).
The committee is to be headed by Kaduna state Commissioner for Sports Development, Prof. Kabir Mato, with the Permanent Secretary, Umar Kabiru Ibrahim to serve as Vice Chairman.
Others members of the committee are the Director of Sports, Yakubu Ibrahim, Head Coach Tennis Association, Ubale Mohammed, Ismaila Umaru Lere and a representative of the tournament’s sponsors.
