The presidency and its needless advice

Recently, the presidency called on Nigerians not to give up on Nigeria, and advised the people to learn from Pastor Kumuyi, the General Overseer of Deeper Life Bible Church, who before now, donated N50 million to the federal government to help provide palliatives for Nigerians during the lockdown to curtail the spread of Covid-19.

One can now see why the presidency called on Nigerians to learn from Pastor Kumuyi. I stand to be corrected that the majority members of the Deeper Life Bible Church in the country are poor and they needed help during the lockdown to survive. Yet, their leader was busy donating to the federal government so as to gain favour, and he succeeded since government can now call on Nigerians to learn from him.

Don’t forget that the donations given to the government by the international community and Kumuyi and others to get palliatives and share to the people, where embezzled. The palliatives bought with the little used from the financial donations were not even given to the needy until during the #EndSars protest where the protesters forcefully broke into the warehouses and shared them among themselves.

Some so called men of God are contributing greatly to the problems we have in the country. The poor have been brainwashed by these men of God, to gather the little they have and take it to their pastors to buy private jets, donate N50 million to the corrupt government and so on, while the poor members of the church remain poor but they are the same people making their pastors rich by taking all they have to them in the name of offering, tithe, sowing of seed and so on. My people indeed perish for lack of understanding.

The presidency’s advice for Nigerians learning from Kumuyi is indeed funny. As a Christian, I will learn from Jesus Christ, who gives to the needy, and not the rich, who does no eye service and seeks no favour from anyone.
