THISDAY staff, wife dedicate twin daughters after 8-year marriage

It was a time of thanksgiving and praises to God as the family of Mr. Senator Iroegbu, Defence Correspondent of THISDAY Newspapers, dedicated their twin daughters, Olaedo and Olamma, on Sunday at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Wuse 11.
Speaking during the thanksgiving and dedication service, a former Defence Spokesman, who is also a Pastor of the church, Maj.-Gen. Chris Olukolade (retd.), advised parents to raise their children “in a Godly manner.”
Olukolode, who chaired the ceremony, said parents had an obligation to bring up God-fearing children, “who will grow up to become responsible citizens.”
In his testimony, Iroegbu, who also celebrated his survival from the Boko Haram attack on the Abuja offices of THISDAY in 2012, said his family waited eight years for the birth of the girls.
While re-counting the challenges his family went through, he called on couples to always be patient in times of trouble and to believe and trust in God at all times.
Iroegbu decried the fact that women were not appreciated “for the pains they go through in the process of childbirth” and vowed to institute an annual programme “that will focus on maternal health.”
