Tinubu, Mustapha of plotting against Igbo 2023 interest- Group

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council (OYC) worldwide Wednesday alleged that former Governor of Lagos state and All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, are plotting against Igbo presidential interest in 2023.

The group alleged that Tinubu has concluded plans to make Mustapha, a Christian his running mate come 2023 thereby attempt to frustrate the realization of Igbo presidency.

In a statement issued in Abakaliki by the Deputy President General Comrade, Obinna Achionye, and the Secretary General, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, the group alleged that Tinubu had resisted the appointment of an Igbo as SGF in preference for the reappointment of Mustapha, solely with 2023 in mind.

The group said Tinubu’s intention is to suppress the South-east region because of his fear that an Igbo man as SGF would stand between him and his inordinate ambition to be Nigeria’s president in 2023.

However, the statement said their members have vowed mobilised the Igbo in the South-west to thwart Tinubu’s alleged presidential ambition in 2023.

The group advised Tinubu to respond questions posed to him by the Coalition of Northern Groups and Arewa Youths on his alleged role in unleashing terror on the Igbo during their 2015/2019 Presidential elections.

They also want the APC national leader to state his role in the alleged drowning of Igbo voters inside the lagoon and the secret mobilisation of OPC boys to chase away potential Igbo voters in some South-west states, especially Lagos.

“Until Senator Ahmed Tinubu clears himself of the allegations of double standard by preventing Igbo from being part of President Muhammadu Buhari’s government particularly when the Northern Elders Forum pleaded with Buhari to appoint an Igbo as Secretary to the Federal Government during his first tenure.

He explains his provocative onslaught against the Igbo through demolition of markets in Igbo dominated areas immediately after the 2015 elections and also where Igbo won some federal and state legislative seats, the Igbo would not trust him.

“As the Northerners are now wiser than before 2015 where they blindly enter into political alliance with South-west that solely benefitted Tinubu political dynasty, as they have clearly seen that Tinubu’s presidency will divide Nigeria along ethnic and religious lines, and as the political pact between the North and South-west led by Tinubu crumbles, the road is cleared for the re-alignment of the North and Eastern region.”

The group stated that a Nigerian president of Igbo stock with Northern vice president in 2023 will strengthen Nigeria and bring about economic and socio-political prosperity, and therefore urged all to embrace the prospect.
