Tipper drivers serve strike notice in Edo


Tipper drivers in Edo state has threatened to withdraw their services over alleged demolition and  grabbing of their property in Okhuoromi community, Oredo local government area of Edo State.

The drivers called on the State government and the Oba of Benin to  intervene by calling the Chief priest of the community to hands off the said land property to members.  
Chairman of the drivers association, Comrade Austin Uhunmwangho, disclosed this to newsmen in Benin City on Monday.  
“The tipper drivers who deal in transportation of sand and granites are not the only victim of this whole evil act you can see some other person here. 
“We have taken it upon ourselves to liberate others even while we fight for our right. What we want is our land,” he stated. 
The Chief Priest, Mr.  Ovbokhan Igbinovia, had accused the the tipper association chairman of pucknosing into an affair that he was never invited with the motive of satisfying his mistress.
He said  Uhunmwangho and his members did not buy any land from authorities of the community.
