Title bout: D-day as Joshua, Parker finally clash in Cardiff

Boxing fans all over the world are expecting an explosive bout that will bring back the era of the legendary Muhammad Ali and Iron Mike Tyson who rode the boxing world like a colossus.

Heavyweight boxers, Nigerian-born British boxer Anthony Joshua and New Zealander, Joseph Parker will both put their belts on the line in a major title fight so far in 2018.

It is a unification bout that will rock the boxing world and where the winner will take it all. While Joshua is defending his World Boxing Association (WBA), International Boxing Federation (IBF) and International Boxing Organization (IBO) titles, Parker is putting his World Boxing Organization (WBO) on the line.

What makes the fight more interesting is the fact that the two pugilists have not lost a fight since turning professional at different times.

For the 26-year-old Parker who turned pro under the tutelage of Sir Bob Jones in 2012, he has yet to lose a fight with 24 wins in a row.

Joshua, currently the most-talked-about boxer in the world, turned pro in 2013. The 28-year-old is ranked as the world’s best active heavyweight by the Ring.

A good fight on Saturday will reignite the good old days of Muhammad Ali/George Foreman ‘1974 Rumble in the Jungle’, Joe Frazier/Muhammad Ali ‘1971 Fight of the Century’, Marvin Hagler/Sugar Ray Leonard fight of the 80s.

Boxing fans want to see a new and established champion after a decade dominance of the Klitschko brothers, Vladimir and Vitali. Both Joshua and Parker have added finesse and glamour to boxing since their emergence unlike the boring tactics and approach of Vladimir and Vitali.
