Few days ago, a group of armed men, known to be boys of the late Tewase Agwaza, who was popularly called Gana, entered the Katsina-Ala in Benue state, shot and killed some people. Thereafter, they threatened to come back for more killings to protest the assassination of their boss by the military.
Kindly note that it was the military that assassinated the dreaded Terwase Agwaza, their boss, and not those they killed in Katsina-Ala recently, not those they promised to come back and kill and not those they will continue to kill.
These boys are Tiv by tribe, and those they have killed and promised to come back to kill more are equally Tiv.
These are the kind of people Governor Samuel Ortom is calling on to procure arms and defend themselves against the killer herders. They already have arms but they are using their arms to kill their own people, not the herdsmen that have been terrorising their state. What a pity!
However, if these boys are afraid of confronting the military that killed their boss, then, they should go after the elders that deceived their boss to come after which they informed the military to come and take him unawares.
Some people the late Agwaza trusted were bribed to convince him to come and surrender, and thereafter, he will be set free. Through them, Agwaza was captured and crushed by the military that set some arrested Boko Haram members free and rehabilitated them while the same military will arrest and kill Agwaza who came to surrender his arms to be set free as he was deceived by those who connived with the military to plot his death.
The Benue state governor, who called on the people of the state to acquire arms and defend themselves against the herders, should equally know that his people don’t know how to use arms against the enemies but they can rather use arms to assist herders and other enemies of the state in achieving thier goal thereby wiping them off to take over the state.
I am equally Tiv but I must confess that my people are the most stupid and extremely uninformed people in Nigeria that have no sense. They come first in every bad thing: corruption, fornication, adultery, drinking and many more.
With all that, it is indeed not surprising that they can acquire arms to kill their own people instead of their enemies!
