…To launch N10bn agric environmental impact fund

As part of effort to mitigate the effect of climate change on Nigeria agriculture, President Muhammudu Buhari is set to lunch a N10 billion naira agricultural environmental impact fund next Wednesday to support women which farmlands are devastated by environment change and terrorism.
The Women Association for National Agriculture Environment Impact Fund (WAEIF), who is organizing the event, said the lunch will focus on food acceleration and food increase to enable Nigerians avert the economy recession and food crisis faced by Nigerians.
According to Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Abuja, Prof. A.A Adeniyi, will outline solution since the country’s economy is in recession with 485 naira per dollars, unemployment as well as factories laying off workers while some short down due to energy supply.
He further said Oil and gas pollution, lack of fishermen has cursed the country to import items that are suspected to contained genetics modified organism that are curses cancer to human body.
The WAEIF lunch of ten billion naira agriculture environmental impact fund will serve as alternative funding option for women who could not have access to land, collateral for bank loan, especially women from north east that have been displaced due to terrorism and cultural factors.
