Towards creating a friendly environment

I must however, start by shouting across my sincere appreciation to the workaholic and easygoing DG Bauchi State Environmental Protection Agency (BASEPA), Dr. Ibrahim Kabir, for sacrificing his God given gift of intellect to ensure Bauchi is clean and cleared. To be straightforward, it gladdens our hearts to see how you and your team embarked on a journey to create a hospitable environment for the good people of the state.

I would like to use this avenue to bring to your notice the issue of refuse disposal or dumping of refuse in Abubakar Tatari Ali Cental Market, Azare. For instance, as of now they don’t have a space been reserved for them to be dumping refuse not to talk of public toilets. Therefore, a dust bin has to be provided and toilets if possible. For you to achieve your beautifully started goal of saving the common man from the menace of environmental pollution – land air and water pollution – which are harmful to our environment and bodies.

Moreover, It is also advisable for BASEPA to liaise with the ministry of environment to look inwards on the possibility of making it must on the landlords and those who own three and above shops in a given area to build at least one public toilet alongside their very own shops, for the buyers and sellers to be able to ease themselves when the need arises. It pains to see an area with lots of shops and even a mosque but have no toilet at all. In such scenes the customers couldn’t get where to ease themselves and hence they must resort to do whatsoever openly.
